We are happy to welcome LifeHouse Sykesville into the network.
Personal Testimony from Darrin Spencer:
The LifeHouse Church Network has become a vital link in the chain of relationships that the Lord is fitting together for Life House Sykesville and for me personally. Rewind a little bit...When we were just about to begin meeting together as a core group prior to launching our church, I visited two church plants, since it had been 15 years since being part of a one myself. I knew that becoming reacclimated to the whole church planting/missional mindset was a must and that nothing would do that as effectively as going with a small crew and joining two of these churches for Sunday morning worship. One of these, Life House East is where I connected with Patrick Grach. We seemed to hit it off immediately, but lost contact over the year or so in the midst of planting. Then, at a church planters luncheon, I reconnected with him and was introduced to Terry Broadwater, who serves as coach to the pastors within the network.
The things he spoke of at that luncheon made a real connection with me. His words to me at that meeting and several that followed were life-giving. What the Lord had revealed to me in private was mirrored in our converstions...that got me FIRED UP! Upon connecting with these 'brothers in arms'-Terry, Curt, Patrick, Justin, Joel and a few others, I realized that I had made some vital relational connections that must be present when doing the work of planting.
My encouragement to of those considering either planting or mothering a plant, is to do so within the context of a partnering relationship. The last thing a church planter needs to fight is the perception that they're out there on their own. Just my $0.02 for what it's worth!
